Probably either lock it up by m&s or continue to cycle via the two segregated cycle lane routes going north?

Lock it outside the Ritzy. Well overlooked spot, lot's of parking

Although that raises another good improvement that could be made locally - secure bike parking at Brixton tube. Never understood why it wasn't included as part of the plans when they did the station up several years ago. Finsbury Park at the other end of the Victoria line has a great facility.

From a pedestrian’s perspective, possible cycling improvements would include using front and rear lights when it’s dark, stopping at red lights, using the road (and ever-increasing number of cycle lanes) and not the footpaths and not retorting with the F and C words when politely asked to do any of the above.

Totally agree Nigello! I was driving through the backstreets of Camberwell this morning and then on to the main junction at Camberwell Green and in the space of 10 minutes witnessed at least 10 cyclists jumping lights and pedestrian lights. Winced a few times as they missed pedestrians or were very nearly hit themselves by cars/buses!

Yes, I'm amazed there aren't more accidents involving cyclists.

The other side of it of course is cyclists riding perfectly safely and within the "rules of the road" who get injured or killed by  impatient and/or inattentive car and lorry drivers.

@Cancerian @Nigello Please go to another thread.  This is a pro cycling one aimed at people who enjoy cycling and welcome the benefits.  There are others where people who hate cyclists and blame them for all the ills in the world post.  It's a bit sad when you feel the need to post here

A bit pots and kettles coming from you Mal. Nigello and Cancerian have fair points; cycling responsibly and taking care round other road users and pedestrians is in everyone's best interests, I do not see that as anti cycling.

The cycle lane through Dulwich Village needs sorting, the road surface is awful and in low light may be problematic for some.

@first mate @Penguin68 you have yet another thread to moan about cyclists.  I'd be grateful if you didn't post here unless you had something constructive to say about cycle routes and improvements.  For example how Greendale is a good example.

    • The programme was brilliant and makes me wary now of sea paddling as so many areas affected. My daughter was working at a bank when privatisation of utility companies were floated. Bank advised its staff that only x number of shares could be purchased by individuals as Government rules at that time. She reported that certain people were seeking double and triple shares. Bank told her to ignore the guidelines as those customers had thousands of pounds in the bank. She was so disgusted at the banks attitude she handed in her notice, She decided that the financial world was too corrupt. Two degrees later - she now works in the NHS as an OT in mental health unit.

    • Petition Urge Israeli Government to stop law allowing execution of Palestinian prisoners The UK Government must act urgently to urge the Israeli Government to stop the proposed law which would permit the execution of Palestinian Prisoners, past, present and future. More details We believe that such a law would constitute complete violation of the Geneva Convention and International Human Rights Law. UN experts have called for these proposals to be dropped. We call on the UK Government apply considerable and substantial political pressure and the leverage of its international obligations to prevent the Israeli Government from passing this law.
