Small jobs (Forest Hill)

Green Pepper

Recommended Posts

We have several small jobs need doing and which I'm struggling to find the time for as my wife is expecting in January. These are:

- Board up exposed pipes next to front door. These were previously covered but when the front door was replaced the plank had to be removed due to hinges and won't fit again. It will need a kind of box rather than just a flat plank to cover.

- Window box. We replaced bay windows in a bedroom but left the existing window box in as recommended by the fitters. Basically, some of the plastering has come of and it needs touching up since it's atheistically poor. I think the box is made from concrete, not sure if we can simply paint over.

- fill in two holes in kitchen celling. These holes are from when we replaced the lights a few months back.

Ideally works would be down before Christmas if possible. I'll send pics over to know who gets in touch.

Thanks.

    • Charity shops have really good board books, especially St Christopher's
    • It was indeed in the vicinity of DKH. I live on the ED estate and I could tell it must be close by because of the noise. When I left my house this morning I found the culprits litter still in the middle of the st. It looked like they had lit a whole box on fire in the middle of the road. My cat jumped out of her skin. I’ll try and report it on Southwark website same as I have had to with other illegal use this week. Any other ideas for what we can do with the photos? Maybe one of the Southwark councillors. It’s outrageous and dangerous behaviour.
    • Had another great meal there…. those that haven’t tried it, give it a go.. have a special lunch menu as well so you can get a flavour of the food.
    • If you "cotton on" and read the council announcement, it clearly states "The library will be closed from 17 November until late June or early July 2026."  https://www.southwark.gov.uk/2025/dulwich-library-closing-refurbishment
