I've heard great things about Norwood Roofing but they've told me they're too busy to even come and do a quote right now. They recommended London and Kent roofing  who did a site visit but have also not got back to me with a quote.

Any other local suggestions? I've got serious roofing issues that need fixing and I really want a trustworthy company to do the work.

I am using Jeff Latouche   Roofer and Builder. His details were given t o me following a rogue roofing firm deliberately damaged my roof (Southwark Trading Officers are now building up a case against the rogue firm)  Jeff has been a delight to work with - work has taken longer due to weather but is almost finished, Scaffolders had put scaffolding poles against my boiler house door which meant I could not increase the gas pressure needed to heat the house. Emailed Jeff and he sent round his colleague who moved the offending scaffolding pole to gain access to the boiler and sorted out the pressure for me.

Jeff is based in Croydon - 0208 407 5213

    • I may have found the cause. Popped up to Erics this morning, and just opposite the Jewellers I heard the beeping. Stopping there for a few minutes I pinpointed it to either the beige campervan , the trailer or the building they are both parked outside. Acoustics make it hard to pin down exactly.
    • What is a "culture warrior"? What "facts" are you referring to, and why the inverted commas? Yes, the "garden" is big (I can use inverted commas too!) Yes, it has seats.  Are you a fan of AstroTurf and artificial plants? How would you define a "garden"?
    • "I'm not surprised the culture warriors have showed up with their usual "facts"." what does this even mean?
    • It was such a lovely pub.  I drank and occasionally ate there for many years.  It had a locals feeling about it.  It had the most grumpy couple who managed it, and an outrageous gothed up person behind the bar.  Then it went through several makeovers and it was never the same again. Bums on seats.  The plastic grass, little cabins, relatively expensive alcohol, ubiquitous menu, all brings the punters in.  Pub business has changed.   The brewery who ran their pubs so well has long since gone.  They don't need my business and my sense of nostalgia to survive.
