PECKHAM PODCAST’s final edition for 2024 is with Nick Dunne, a man of Faith, a family man and former director of Bede House in Bermondsey. Nick is also a pilgrim having completed the Via Francigena, a huge undertaking. Whilst not as famous as the Camino Santiago de Compostela, it is enormously long! And turned Nick into an author too.

Nick ran the settlement project Bede House for almost twenty years. Through the work of Community TV Trust I came to know Bede really well and loved it. Bede combined a youth project, a very successful unit that addressed domestic violence, and a third working with local learning-disabled adults. For this latter project, Bede was honoured in 2008 with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. In all respects this is a heart-warming hour.

Here we are at New Year's Eve, a time of reflection and of thinking ahead. No small task, either of them. Walk with Nick Dunne and immerse yourself in a present tense of inwardness and renewal.

    • Absolutely gutted to hear that Dell Autos in Hansler Road is closing tomorrow. They have MOTed my ancient 1998 Micra for years, and have always been brilliant. Wishing them all the best of luck in their retirement. Wishing all their customers (including me) luck in finding another garage as honest, helpful, efficient and friendly as they were.

    • Crikey. I need a lie down in a darkened room after reading that. And I've only just got up 🤣 Well said, though (apart from the annoying use of "woke").
    • That came up barry road aswell Heard car beeping then police cars about 10 seconds later. By the way COYS
