We have just had the exterior of our house painted including original Victorian windows, front door and masonry. Alan Coombes and his team did a really excellent job and were a real pleasure to have around. They were very quiet (no radios blasting), cleaned up really thoroughly at the end of each day, and voluntarily took on extra small jobs with no additional charge e.g. repairing broken tiles, cleaning the garden path, fixing broken drains.   I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened, which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure was an unavoidable one off ....

  Nope. I don’t have this wrong. I’ve tried to put my point across respectfully, without resorting to personal, angry insults. And all my colleagues agree that the BBC got this right in its condemnation. All you see is confirmation bias. If you don’t realise that, then you’re part of the problem.

  We have always gone during the week at lunch time - great place and good value. Husband has been several times on his own and owner knows his first name. I could not go one time for some reason and she sent him home with some spring rolls (free)
