Why is part of east dulwich road blocked off?

Does anyone know what happened around 3pm today on the corner of crystal palace road and east dulwich rd?

I heard a loud thud,then within seconds police arriving in increasing numbers and now the roads been blocked from the roundabout.

No sign of a road traffic accident either and I'm fearing the worst.

There is/was a car with the rear offside smashed in. No sign of any other vehicle when I passed (Walking)

Road and Pavement closed off. 15.30 ish.

I seem to have left a trail of devastation in my wake! I must have just missed the Crystal palace Road/ East Dulwich Road incident on my way to Sainsburys, and just missed the bus incident at Goose Green on the way back!

The police van that was there had a smashed front section.
