Does anyone know what happened around 3pm today on the corner of crystal palace road and east dulwich rd?

I heard a loud thud, then within seconds police arriving in increasing numbers and now the roads been blocked from the roundabout.

No sign of a road traffic accident either and I'm fearing the worst.

The police van that was there had a smashed front section.

I read somewhere that Edinburgh is doing this next year? Charges of this kind are becoming common around the world. I think it absolutely makes sense for Southwark and other boroughs are bound to follow.
