Thinking of tutoring for your child - don’t delay - get started before half-term.

Recommended Posts

This time is where many parents start thinking about tutoring for their child and many do indeed start tutoring.

These parents are either looking at entrance exams or just giving their child a boost/extra support or sometimes needing more challenging work in maths and/or English.

However some parents decide to wait to start and then quite often wish they had started tutoring earlier. In terms of entrance exams (7plus and 11plus etc) the average start time is the second term of year 5 - that is this term!

Parents who start later often, from our experience, end up with a bit of shock with how much work there is to do in the short time left.

It is easy to overestimate what your child can do and also their exam readiness and leave it to the last weeks before the entrance exams where: panic can set in (not just for you but your child) and it can also
be difficult to  find a good tutor with local entrance exam experience and free slots (matching your availability).

Students who start in January or before generally do two sessions a week by exam time but those starting later could end up needing three or four sessions a week by the exam to catch up.

So, please get in touch to  book an introductory/assessment sessions and/or get started with exam preparation/non-exam tutoring  without the panic. I  currently have one slot a day available (Mon-Saturday) as of mid January 2025.

Please call to get started (we will start with some initial informal or formal assessments either way). References and DBS available.

Thank you

    • The residents & families of the estate are getting parking fines,  out of the blue , the residents parking system waa changed from Southern to Sippi with cameras put up in the car park and people issued with fines entering the estate for more then 10 minutes , families can no longer pick up or drop off family due to a new 10 minute wait fine. Residents are appealing with Sippi and Southern as there was no letters to consult of a parking change,  new waiting times or fines, delivery drivers are getting fines everyday,  if you get a fine,  appeal it, there is no signage up to say about parking fines or waiting time

    • How very dare you. Rest assured, if it were intended to be comedy, it would have been funny.
