Hello all - The Met have advised me that my car, stolen on New Year's Eve, is still in the area as the license plate has pinged on the NPR system a few times. But they are not able to know where it actually goes, as it's being driven around, and so cannot recover it.

So if - on the off chance - anyone happens to see it, parked or moving: 2004 grey SmartCar, soft top, plate LB04 FTU, I would appreciate it if you could let me know where and when. A quick text is all I need: 07748 654889.

Every other aspect has already been dealt with. Just trying to recover myself.

Many thanks in advance.

That's interesting that the system can do that and at least give you some information - when my camper van was stolen around seven years ago nobody ever mentioned it being spotted on ANPR. It actually received a parking ticket in Beckenham but even though the theft had been reported the ticketing process didn't flag up that it was a stolen vehicle otherwise it could have been recovered.

Good luck, I'll keep an eye out.

Have you looked in the lordship lane estate car park which is where I found mine or any other discreet, free car park around here?

That's a good point - if you're not getting tickets posted to the house (and you haven't changed the V5), then they must be stashing it somewhere there are no parking restrictions (because no-one is going to apply for a permit for a stolen car). So that's at least some of the search area narrowed...

Adding the strike to this just makes everything feel even more impossible and he's pretty low right now.
