Just wanted to shout out a really great new coffee place on Upland Road next to Eric’s bakery. 
 

It’s called Aroma Lab and the owner is so lovely. Super knowledgeable about coffee and it’s definitely the best coffee I’ve had locally. Worth a visit if you want to support a new local business.

We made the error of visiting the one in Dulwich just after it opened...you missed nothing.

I dont mind paying a bit more for something decent but honestly it was one of the most underwhelming badly cooked meals I've eaten,  with an accompnayment of awful muzak and dire dire service .

Anyone have any idea what might be happening with 104 Lordship Lane, next to Kanella? Looks like it might have been let, and some refitting/redecorating being done - just curious.

I went in here the other day. The fruit is all really good - ripe and fresh. They also sell good bread (and croissants and pastries) from a independent bakery, the name of which I've forgotten. 🤦

The prices (which are marked) are not cheap but they are fair imo. Comparable to the specialist fruit shop on Lordship Lane (Brothers?) for really good quality. It's similar prices to Simply Fresh - but Simply Fresh's fruit and veg is very poor. Beaten about and tasteless. Sainsbury's is certainly cheaper.

IMVHO they're a good addition to the Dulwich Village "retail offer".

Seconded, lovely coffee and much better than Eric's, which is great for bakery stuff but bad and expensive for coffee
