Very sorry this has happened and I would suggest you come to the next Police Ward Panel which covers that area I think (look on met police website or I'll post it later when I find it), and to the person who snuck in a sly attack on budgets for the artwork on the bollards: different budget, and I think they're worth the money for the small amount the artist was paid.

Secondly, there are cameras against shops I believe, but on a self defence level I would always recommend having something to hand ready. A paper for example can be rolled up. Keys can hurt if there's nothing else around.

I do hope you are okay and thanks to the couple for looking after you too!

Forget about the car keys the newspaper the torch they only escalate the situation. get yourself to the nearest people .in this case the herne the co-op si mangia would all have been open . I know the gut tells you to hurry go faster get home but slow your breathing think and consider other options

I think you were right though he was

having something ready would only put you in trouble ,its called intent, ... the police should look at the cctv ,it sounds like this pond life has done it before .if he is clearly on the cctv then they could show it to other people that have reported the same or worse ,they might id him , christ its not rocket science is it ..... what colour was the bike?was he black or white , teen or older .cuts or not the police have to respond to any call they recieve.

Agree - there must still be people who are 'known to the police'

It's just politically incorrect for them to state it - but it will be true.

Maybe Trident deals with this and the local police don't ? is Trident still around ?

Why would Trident deal with this? If the local police for some odd reason chose to refer on to trident then they would still be taking action rather than ignoring this woman in the disgraceful way they have. Either way Trident isn't really the appropriate department.

Just that I remember a long time ago getting no response from the police

and it turned out they had an undercover operation going on.

It would be unlikely, I suppose - but I'd like to think something happens

behind the scenes

    • @Penguin68 I find your post really weird and frankly  a bit creepy. The discussion is about the fact that a charity shop has a sale on and whether their pricing and stock policy has changed. To twist that into an attack on government fiscal policies and an oblique snipe at the cross party supported assisted dying legislation, passed with clear support from the majority of the public, is just bafflingly bizarre. I am relieved that you stopped short of blaming Southwark Council or TfL. There is no contradiction between the intent of the assisted dying bill and the work of hospices, it does not force doctors to do anything and suicide doesn’t exist- it was abolished as a crime in 1961.  If you wish to raise yet another argument you have already lost, I suggest you start a new thread rather than divert this one off topic.
