Been with  them for years but over the last year, service has really dropped. Can’t load or access site and having finally found a contact number for them, have confirmed that for months now they have had internet problems. Can’t even make calls on a regular basis. Didn’t even want to encourage me to stay!
So sadly I am off.

Been recommended Labara - looks good and I believe piggy backs off Vodaphone which can’t be as bad as Three. Any views? Tks.

That's very odd.

I'm with iD and have had no problems making calls at all.

I don't understand the internet issues. They don't provide internet, do they?

Do you mean specifically their own website? If so, why on earth don't they get it sorted out?!

Yes they piggy back off three - found a number to actually speak to them. We’re not fussed I was leaving, said they were having problems. Really is ridiculous - have worse reception in London than Devon - doesn’t connect at all now and I am along Southbank way. Calls keep being disconnected.

Sadly, I am done with them - overcharged me for one month and not refunding.

Going to Libra - not possible  to be as bad as ID - literally been going on for months and as they admitted last year to me when I was having problems with their ap “ yes, we have been experiencing problems”!,

Actually that's interesting.

I have had the occasional call cut off, but I thought I must be leaning on something on my phone by mistake. It never occurred to me it was anything to do with iD!

But I've never had problems connecting in the first place, anywhere in London (or anywhere else).

Maybe I've just been lucky.

The only problem I've ever had with iD/3 was quite a long time ago when the whole of the network suddenly went down for a while. I can't remember how long for.

Where is Southbank way? Is that where you live, or do you mean you were writing that post while near the Southbank?

What network do Libra piggyback on?

Sue,

Southbank in London  - you must know this and I don’t need to spell it out to you - must be having brain fog….

Libra I believe piggy backs off Three.

if you go on ID website, you can see numerous people complaint about service anyway it is a dead subject now as I am leaving them having been with them for over 7 years

I wasn't trying to be funny!

I wasn't clear what you meant. Of course I know where the South Bank is!

You said "I am along Southbank way and calls keep being disconnected".

As I then said, I didn't know if you meant where you lived (I have no idea where you live, or if there is some road round here called Southbank Way which I hadn't heard of) or whether it was somewhere you were temporarily.

I googled Libra and nothing comes up re phones, only astrology 😂 Do you mean Lebara?

They piggyback off Vodafone. If they piggybacked off Three  I imagine you would have exactly the same problems as you are having now (I'm assuming it isn't a problem with your phone) so there wouldn't be much point in changing!

I will have a look at the iD website, however people who are happy with a service (like me, in this case) generally don't go onto a company's website to praise them, only if they have cause to complain.

That isn't to say that there may not be a problem with iD, but some sort of independent comparison (I don't know if Which have investigated) would be a better way of finding out.

Anyway, I hope you have better results with your new provider. When my brother lived in East Dulwich, he and his family had to switch from Vodafone when they moved within the area,  because they got no mobile signal at all in their new flat and had to go up the street to make phone calls.

Hopefully you will have a better experience!!!

Lebara,

Got a great online deal with them through a comparison website

Been with them for 5 yrs now, generally no issues

Coverage has been fine, problems on Underhill and Woodvale sometimes, but unsurprisingly perhaps because of the terrain the signal is weaker there?

Yes, my brother lived in that area and had to change to something other than Vodafone.

He didn't just have a "weak" signal. He had no signal at all.

In my case, internet doesn’t work even in London, incoming cals disconnect b4 u can even pick up calls!

Reinstalled ap & now even worse! Can however, access where I am regarding billing etc.

Been with them 4 for years - been bad for over a year.. blamed my phone etc- lucky for me, can just change & leave, hopefully without any delay as only SIM pay as you go…

Must be just unlucky….. would not recommend them now to anyone - if all else fails will just very very reluctantly ho to one of the big 4 & take a contract, which seems to have to be 4 two years or just might decide to not have a phone at all..

Did you see my post above where iD suggested to someone else with your problems that it could be a sim or device issue?

Why are you so sure it isn't your phone that has developed a fault? Phones can and do go wrong (reinstalling the app would not help if your phone itself is faulty).

To test this out:

Have you tried your SIM card in somebody else's phone? If they don't have connection problems, then the fault is with your phone (though see below - your SIM card could be faulty, in which case this test wouldn't work).

Have you tried somebody else's SIM card in your phone? If you still have the same connection problems, then the fault is with your phone.

Both of those tests would tell you if the problem was with your phone rather than the network. Only if  the connection problems continued would the problem probably be with the iD network.

Have you asked for another SIM card to try out (with the same phone number, obviously!) in case your SIM card has become faulty?

Have you tried their live chat (link above) which they say can help with further troubleshooting?

These things would be quite quick and easy to do, and could save you a lot of time and inconvenience changing providers!

Beansprout, I think that's quite unfair.

I was  only trying to help.

How was I to know you had your phone checked out last week? I thought I was making a useful suggestion. It's good that you have now eliminated that possibility.

What I couldn't understand is, if it is an iD (and hence 3) issue, and the connection all over London is as bad as you are experiencing, then everybody using iD or 3 would  be having exactly  the same problems.

I hadn't seen any publicity, so I just googled.

It seems that reception in central London and other densely populated areas is a known problem with 3/iD, so I must just be lucky. Though none of the posts I could find were recent.

I hope you have better luck with a different provider.

    • I think the only way to sort this is to ban loud fireworks for private sale (and preferably ban fireworks altogether except for public displays). I don't know whether that has implications I'm not aware of eg I have no idea how many people are involved in firework manufacture.
    • Very happy to recommend Tommy Rooney's excellent work again. He's been servicing my boiler for years now, but this time he swiftly fixed a leaky radiator valve. I put out a call on Friday and it was repaired - and improved - by Monday evening. I asked him if he had an opinion about my other radiators, and he reassured me as he pointed out the leaky bathroom rad was a non-standard length, which was why it caused problems. There followed a brief but detailed history of improvements in regulations for valves and fittings over the years, so that I could understand precisely what the issue was. How many plumbers will do that for you? "I've just got a memory for weird things," says Tommy modestly.
    • Wanted 2 x Adult and 1 x Children tickets for Dulwich fireworks tonight please!
    • Labour have changed a number of things overnight.   1. VAT on school fees - this has resulted in 25,000 moving until state education. 2. Increasing NICs adding billions to the cost of going to work. 3. Introducing the Employment Rights Bill causing employers to stop hiring. This and item 2 have added 100,000 people to the unemployment scrapheap. These are also causing businesses to relocate further harming the economy. 4. Scrapping all the small boats deterrents meaning 60,000 illegal migrants have arrived in small boats since they were elected. 5. Dishing out huge public sector payroses with no conditions so we have a massively increased payroll and doctors etc arestill going out on strike. 6.changed IHT and non domicile tax rules causing 16,500 millionaires to leave the UK and stop paying any tax here at all forever. 7. Alongside 6, leaving the budget up until an historically late period after the last budget has caused a house price crash, killing the market and decimating government stamp duty receipts. 8. Their profligate borrowing (£100bn extra in just one year) to fund all their lavish promises means the government can now only borrow at the highest ever yields on records. They are more beholden to the bond markets than Liz Truss was. 9. The rate of inflation has doubled under this government. It was a healthy 2% when they came in. For most of the last year, as a result of all of the above it is now nearly 4%.   These are all decisions the Labour government took that have immediate cause and effect.  Its no good harking back to 15 years ago. The current administration was gifted the fastest growing economy in the G7 and within 15 months they have destroyed it.    And things are only going to get worse this winter.
