Nanny ‘share’ available – either split or shared time across Mon-Fri possible

We have an experienced (>20yrs, nursery-nurse/childcare qualifications, middle sibling of five, raised her nephews), unflappable, fun, and hugely reliable (43-year-old) nanny who we love and have worked with for eight years. References from us and previous employers available.

Latterly we have been her sole employer but previously we have had various successful nanny-share arrangements with other families. Advantages of nanny-sharing include: shared cost, sociability & vertical learning for children involved, more fun / challenge / interest for nanny.

She is British, grew up in South London, and is Streatham-based herself. English her first language. She knows the Herne Hill, Dulwich Village, West Dulwich areas very well from child-activities point-of-view, plus wider areas including East Dulwich and Streatham a bit. She is familiar with many baby/toddler/children groups and venues. She would be quick to find the same in adjacent, currently-less-super-familiar-to-her areas.

She is expert in ages/stages for child development and building littles ones up. She is proactive at getting them out-and-about and being active / doing things. Easy emphasis of outside time, arts and crafts, baking. Us and previous employers note her strength in caring for pre-schoolers to early-years school-age children.

She is a safe and reliable pair of hands. She is organised, tidy and efficient. Children love her. She has on-going relationship with children -now teenagers- she has cared for in the past. She has had one day of sick leave in over eight years. She is very flexible on leave arrangements only rarely asking for particular dates herself.

She does not drive – she walks everywhere or takes the bus or train (with children, no problem).

We no longer need to employ her full-time, but we would like to retain her for some days of the week (at least to include Mon & Fri for us). We are looking for another family to take some of her time. This could be on a split days-of-the-week basis or shared time across a week. Four or possibly five children the max if the latter (and we’ve done this before: is entirely possible subject to discussion/agreement of families re logistics/needs). Very happy to talk to people who might want some time now and more in future, also those who might only want a day, or two – and everything in between. We do not want a second family who only want all 3.30-6pm Mon-Fri +- school holidays – we know this will not work.

We’re experience at nanny-sharing arrangements and can help newbies navigate how to set-up and manage.

We are Herne Hill-based but willing to chat to those further off about possible ‘share arrangements.

Please get in touch here first if you think your needs might align with ours. Many thanks.

    • It may also have been a "regroup" where the TSG move to another location to muster in case they are needed....a "regroup" may also be used when they are, ahem, hungry and need to get to a feeding station. The old East Dulwich police station used to be a feeding and watering hole and was often used as such and mobile units would rush there at feeding time!
    • I am doing an art course. If anyone has any large canvases (used or unused, A1 size or larger), I would be happy to take them off your hands if free or cheap! Sorry but not painted with oil, as I am mainly using acrylics and collage, and oil underneath would not work. Please PM if you have anything suitable! Thanks!
    • is anyone getting rid of one or something similar?   thanks
    • ?????? I have read through this thread and I am totally bemused. It had previously seemed to be a helpful thread, and I  don't want to send it any more off topic by responding to the last two posts by other forum members. Could someone (or admin) please PM me if they think I have stepped out of line and explain why, as recent comments seem to be directed at me and have nothing to do with the subject of the thread. This is a forum, and as in real life people are all  different, with different personalities and sensitivities, and react in different ways,  but the direction this thread has taken is very disappointing. ETA: If the two previous posters want to discuss the points they have made which aren't relevant to the subject of this thread, perhaps one or both of them could start a new thread or threads in the lounge? But probably this thread has come to an end  anyway. Thank you to the other posters for your useful information.
