On 8th March we have 2 rides. One is a new ride from a new starting point with a new ride leader. One not to miss!  The second ride marks Intl Women’s Day, but note open to all.
The Onion Garden is a delightful little garden hidden between offices and homes in the backstreets of Victoria. This ride leaves from the main entrance to Herne Hill Station (on the Railton Road side, What 3 Words:  ///lists.spoken.couches). Route: Railton Road LTN / through Brixton / C5 to Victoria / coffee stop at the Onion Garden. Return via Chelsea Bridge, past Battersea Power Station, round the back of Brixton and through Brockwell Park. 19 km (12 miles). Mainly flat using cycleways and backstreets, crossing a few busier roads. You can view the route here in Google maps. Ride leader Mike T.
Easy-paced bike ride visiting various monuments & memorials to women, in and around central London, to mark International Women's Day (8th March). Jane leading a different route from last time (2022). We'll be stopping to hear brief details of some scientists, stars and spies (amongst others), with a short break at Russell Square. Mostly using cycleways and quiet roads with some short stretches on busy main roads where necessary, also some walking with bikes to look at monuments in places where cycling is not permitted. Total distance about 10 miles.  Start 10h00, Lambeth Palace Forecourt, SE1 7JU, finish there by 13h30 at the latest.
Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Same for “adults at risk”. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users feel safe.  If you cannot make a ride, please cancel so that someone else can take the place.
This ride is part of a regular programme of Saturday rides, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/

Note. Ride reports, often with photos and route maps, are posted to the Southwark Cyclists web site, yearly index at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/.   Future/provisional ride ideas can be viewed on our planning spreadsheet.
