Workers are currently laying a new path.  Cyclists and pedestrians are sharing the remaining half.  No issues, and plastic barriers are used as a baffle to slow cyclists down, as well as the speed humps, for those coming down the hill.  I've used it all week, and it's fine; looking forward to the new path being finished hopefully in a week or two's time.

"a week or two", I think the signs say mid-May.

Thanks for the update

The signage at the Townley Road end says that the cycle path is closed and cyclists should divert. It is, however, possible for cyclists to go through carefully which many are doing and I definitely would if I was cycling rather than walking.

Yes absolutely

Well I reported the fact that the pedestrian "crossing" tiles have been laid in the wrong orientation, and the local counsellor got onto it and I've been assured that the original contractors are going to put it right. Let's see. The way the crossing sections are laid out makes no sense to me. I don't know whether it's a problem of design or implementation.

I assumed the reason they go all the way across was for the benefit of visually impaired people, so they know where the crossing is. But to be honest I can't see how where they are currently placed would help those with visual impairments, the whole area is a massive hazard to that population who deserve better facilities.

Also, those type of crossing tiles do not go all the way across roads designed for cars, so I can see it would be very confusing for the visually impaired. Let's hope it's redesigned correctly so that it's safe for all users.

    • It didn't occur to me to ask. No idea if dieticians are employed within the NHS. It is just one line of enquiry among others. The GP mentioned it, not me.
    • I thought the most they sell in terms of hot food at londis is like pastries and sausage rolls and for hot drinks its like costa coffee but its always a convenience store. Doesn’t look too bad in my opinion considering that shop has been closed down ever since i moved here
    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
