We welcome you to book a stay in our Tranquil Barn in West Sussex, with its spectacular views over open fields to Blackdown and Bexley hill. Set within the South Downs National Park you have delightful countryside walks available straight from your door crossing streams, old stone bridges. meadows and woods. Close to the pretty town of Petworth with its antique shops and Petworth House NT and the bustling market town of Midhurst.
Arundel, Chichester, Cowdray Park and Goodwood are all nearby and the coast is only 1/2 an hour away too.
Within easy reach of London (1.5-2hrs) yet a world away in its tranquil, peaceful setting.


Accommodation is for 4 persons and includes:
One Master Bedroom with double bed
One Twin Bedded Room with two single beds

Bathroom with shower and bath, toilet and sink
Kitchen with breakfast bar, fridge freezer, oven and hob. Utensils, crockery, kettle and toaster.
Open plan sitting room with sofa and armchair and t.v, table and chairs and woodburner.
Outside Private Section of Garden with Private Seating Area with Table and Chairs.
Washing Machine available in separate building.
All bedding and towels are provided.
Selection of Games and Books are provided.
Tea, Coffee and biscuits and fruit from the garden (in season)

Free Parking

Minimum stay 2 nights (low season) and 7 nights (high season)
Weekend breaks available out of season.
The Barn is available throughout the year as well as during our annual Art Festival.
No smoking and No pets

    • Hi, I saw your post and just wanted to say that the incident you’re referring to did happen in the late 1980s at Dawson’s Heights. The person involved was named Carl Salawa, and he had just turned 18 years old at the time. Like you, I haven’t been able to find any news articles or official reports about it, If anyone remembers anything more about that time or incident, I’d really appreciate hearing about it. Thanks for sharing what you were told—it means a lot to know others remember.
