Never heard of anyone who has put poisoned meat down in urban areas.  You will find the vast majority of the population are nice people.

Illegal killing of animals that take game happens in rural areas but that is a different issue

Did you report the dumping of the meat to environmental health and the police?

By all means speculate, I expect that it was fly tipping.  Where it came from and why is athe question....

Foxes have great digestive systems and will eat most foodstuffs.

It's good that you've never personally had to experience poison being left but it is a known fact in this area.

It's not fly tipping - people leave food out for foxes but there are also people who purposefully leave food out to kill animals.

Poison has reputedly been left out to poison the rat population in Peckham Rye, but I think Southwark denied it was anything to do with them. Do remember also the publicity for a South London cat killer that turned out to be an urban myth.

Some years ago, one of our dogs ate something dropped by rubbish bins outside a local café and haemorrhaged. Rushed to emergency vet in Streatham, who suggested that someone, worried about rats getting into rubbish bins may have put down poison. Our dog died the next day. Consequently, any dog we had afterwards wore a muzzle to stop them picking up food.

    • I have a single glazed bay window in my kitchen. All my other windows (including a separate window in my kitchen)  are double glazed. I had a quote to fit double glazing to the bay. It was extremely high and I wasn't willing to pay such a lot for a room I don't spend a vast amount of time in. Has anybody had secondary glazing fitted to a back bay window, and if so was it successful and did it look ok from the inside? And what sort of price can I expect to pay?
    • ditto - the lack of respect the organisers / council have for the impact on the wildlife and damage to the park is the reason I protest the Gala on its current site. The noise is secondary
    • Not sure about that - I'm personally not too bothered by the noise, despite living possibly the closest to the site. I am bothered by the impact on all the wildlife, as should hopefully everyone with a conscience and who care about their community?
    • Their coffee and food is delicious. Really nicely decorated cafe with a nice vibe and a great selection of books too. The owner and staff are all very friendly and happy to chat when preparing your order.
