I grew up in SW London and London by and large has been somewhere as many say that you just need to keep your wits about you. I've lived in various areas of SE London and moved to Dulwich quite recently. I do think post pandemic in particular though as though it's a bit edgier, I'm slightly more guarded than I was growing up in the 90s and 00s. I feel recently I'm much more likely to see unprovoked aggression and people to keep a distance from than I was before including in Dulwich around the area I live. I think austerity and cost of living changes have hit people quite hard.

I don't think it is simple as that. Firstly many people born in the UK and legally allowed to live in the UK work for cash be it all of their working time or mates rates. Digital ID will make it easier to prove that someone is not legally allowed to work in the UK. It will also help where a company has an agreement with an individual who may be legal but permitted to sell on hours to others. And for those using fake driving licenses hiring mopeds to do deliveries. Obviously you have to catch them at it. How much of a deterrent this is to dodgy and reputable employers, and those with no right to work in the UK is unclear. But that question will be asked. On a separate matter poll tax was an awful idea and many in the then Tory party were not in board. This is not in the same league. And to go political how are you going to get your takeaways if there is nobody to make them and deliver them? Will be good for the more ethical companies.

A neighbour told me the same thing this morning. He could not understand why the bus has had to be diverted. There was plenty of room for buses to use.

Agreed! Alex responded immediately, and sorted our blocked sink out the same day. Very satisfied
