Help Us Create Joy, Connection, and Wellbeing at Waterside Care Home

Recommended Posts

As the Senior Nurse at Waterside Care Home, I see firsthand the difference that meaningful spaces and engagement make in the lives of our residents.

I’m taking on a sponsored walk to the breathtaking Seven Sisters Cliffs on 31st May to raise funds that will have a lasting impact. With your support, we hope to:

  • Improve activity and therapy spaces that promote movement, creativity, and connection
  • Create a peaceful sensory garden and wellbeing area for moments of calm and reflection
  • Support community engagement projects that bring joy and inclusivity to everyday life

Every donation brings us one step closer to creating a more vibrant, supportive home for those we care for. Please give what you can—and walk with me in spirit as we make a real difference.

Thank you for your generosity and support.

Do you have a link that gives information about the care home? Where is it?

Also, how can people donate?  Is there a link to that?

Yes of course,

This is something I’m doing entirely independently, in my own time, because I truly believe our residents deserve more than the basics—they deserve enrichment, dignity, and meaningful connection.

You can either bring it to the home and speak to our activities co ordinator who is also fundraising with me or contact her at [email protected]

otherwise this is the PayPal link

You can also find us on Facebook

our Facebook shows more of the home and the residents

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
    • First mate - I wondered if I was imagining things at 4.45 this morning . Apparently not .
