Our acoustic folk orchestra is looking for a larger space to host their Monday rehearsals for upcoming concerts — ideally something of considerable size similar to this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iILJxcXePIlN7oVHmyz4MiCeGVuYa7oY/view?usp=drivesdk

This is a most lovely community project which 7 years on continues to bring together hundreds of people from all over the world and help them share their culture through song.

Try the castle upstairs, you'd need to buy a few drinks in return.  @Suecan you advise?  It will be in use some Mondays no doubt

You would have to speak to Rob, the manager, and see what he says (and if the upstairs room is free on the nights you want,  whether it's suitable for you.)

Other than that I can't advise, except that he asks that everyone attending  buys at least one drink during the evening, which seems completely fair!

I wouldn't have thought the room would be big enough, but you could try.

The Lordship and The Palmerston also have upstairs rooms, but I don't know if they'd use them for orchestra practice.

Also, how about East Dulwich Community Centre in Darrell Road? That has a big sized space which might be more suitable for you.

Your orchestra looks fantastic 🤩

    • I’d also recommend Paul for electrical work. He came round the other week to help us out with a handful of jobs (installing an SPD, new light fittings, installing a dimmer switch, a bathroom fan). His quote was cheaper than what I got from others, he turned up on time and he got the job done quickly.
    • We’d like to add our recommendation for Lukasz and team at L&L Building & Maintenance.  Lukasz has recently installed a roof terrace for us, and we’ve found him a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We contacted about a dozen recommended builders and found his quote very competitive. During the build his team delivered quality work, they were no hassle in the house at all and they kept the place tidy every day. The terrace looks great, and we’re very happy customers. What stood out in particular was Lukasz’s responsiveness, right from discussing quotes to follow-up during the build. Lukasz often checked in and was always available when we needed him.  We’ll definitely contact Lukasz again for future building work and we’d happily recommend him to others looking for a reliable builder.   Lukasz Kugaczewski L&L Building & Maintenance 07926651960 [email protected] www.landl-build.com
    • Yes, I did mention the train, which I now get from East Dulwich to Guys instead of the 40. Depends where in East Dulwich you are starting from which route is easiest! I think it is probably lack of staff rather than lack of hospitals which is the problem?
    • What can be done? How about reporting it to the police?
