From tomorrow, 21st May at midday, Lord Biggar CBE, Regius Professor Emeritus of Moral & Pastoral Theology at Oxford University, talks with Chris Haydon and a small invited audience on PECKHAM PODCAST.

This is the Professor who set out to draw up a balanced view of Empire and history but walked into a storm. "OMG, this is serious shit", said one Cambridge academic on hearing of Biggar's plan. Meet the man himself, unless of course you think this Regius Professor Emeritus should be cancelled still.

On what basis are you saying this?  I have no knowledge.  It would be useful to hear views positive and negative of this academic's views

When someone calls their own views balanced they often mean they consider other peoples views unbalanced that may not be the case.

I took it to mean that he was going to present all sides of the argument (for want of a better term) rather than just giving his own opinion.

I didn't take it to mean that he was calling "his own views" balanced.
