Original Abstract Pastel Painting By Julius Goldstein

£150

64 x 51 cms

Signed bottom right 'Goldstein'.

Silver metal covered wood frame. Very sturdy and well made.

Stamped verso Babcock Galleries, 805 Madison Avenue, N.Y

In pen and pencil catalogue number: c-15418

A delicate pastel in blue, white and yellow resembling a seascape.

Slight undulation to the paper and on the backing board.

I think this work is probably from around the 1970s or 1980's .

Julius was an American artist from New York and the husband of the author Joan Aiken (Wolves of Willoughby Chase, Arabella and Mortimer etc).

They were friends of the family and this artwork was given as a gift to my mother.

Julius worked and taught in New York, famously having Madonna sit for his classes life modelling!

Collection from Camberwell, SE5
