Hi everyone, I'm the co-director of Body Gossip, a not-for-profit, charitable positive body image movement in the UK that is campaigning for a more realistic, diverse and celebratory view of the thousands of ways to be gorgeous in the UK.

We invite people to share their body stories with us via our website (www.bodygossip.org), and we turn these stories into live theatre shows and short films. We've published a book of over 300 real body stories, with a foreword by Gok Wan.

We also teach self-esteem to teenagers all over the UK, and we won the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Campaign of the Year last year. We're run completely voluntarily by 2 friends, local ED resident Ruth Rogers and Natasha Devon.

We're devising a new theatre show at the Southbank Centre this autumn, and we're looking for more body stories - we would LOVE to hear from mums about how having a baby has changed their relationship with their body, and whether their child is already being affected by body image pressures. We'd also love to hear from pregnant women about how their pregnancy is changing their view of their body.

Would you like to get involved?

There are questions you can answer here: www.bodygossip.org/news-general-information/be-part-our-new-show

Or it would be great to arrange a meet up in ED where I'll buy everyone tea and cake and we can all have an informal chat.

Thank you so much, I really hope you would like to help us to tell the stories of what it's like being a mum.

    • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
    • One wonders if he would have defected if he had, ahem, held on to the leadership of Southwark and whether he felt that "Labour are no longer the vehicle for social justice" during his leadership election........my how quickly things change in the thoughts of a politician 😉 I think this sums things up quite nicely: A senior Southwark Labour spokesperson hit back: “Local residents can draw their own conclusions about Cllr McAsh’s swift move from Labour leadership hopeful to the Green Party, after he didn’t get his own way. While he’s thinking about his own career, Southwark Labour are delivering for residents.” One wonders if he will stand as a Green candidate in Goose Green.
    • No doubt if he determines to stand for a ward he will enlighten us - at least his track record is one of using this site to communicate (inter alia). I would suspect that (1) his personal views on traffic will have remained consistent but that (2) his views on local democracy and proper consultation will have as well.
    • Yes, but I want to know where he stands on all this stuff now. My feeling is it won't be any different from Labour?
