Insuflo Posted Tuesday at 19:34 Share Posted Tuesday at 19:34 It seems that The South London Press has gone to the great recycling bin in the sky: https://pressgazette.co.uk/publishers/regional-newspapers/south-london-press-closed/ I’ve not seen the printed paper in years, admittedly. malumbu Posted Tuesday at 20:01 Share Posted Tuesday at 20:01 I've featured in it three times, nothing to do with issues on this site. But..... I don't think I've ever bought it nor do I know anyone who bought it. We had a weekly local rag at home when I was growing up that many bought. Put under years ago by the advertising freebie, not sure if that is still going Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/362241-rip-slp/#findComment-1708498 Share on other sites
Dogkennelhillbilly Posted yesterday at 04:25 Share Posted yesterday at 04:25 Ahh, that's too bad. The SLP was always on sale in Sainsbury's and always available in libraries. They did some really detailed local crime reporting and local government reporting that other outlets wouldn't focus on. intexasatthe moment Posted yesterday at 05:54 Share Posted yesterday at 05:54 That is sad. I much prefer to read papers as such and not digitally. Years ago the SLP used to have a double page spread titled"Your neighbour in court" 2 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/362241-rip-slp/#findComment-1708516 Share on other sites

Cancerian
Shame. I wondered why they were asking for donations to help with running costs in last weeks issue. Been buying it for many years but only recently was thinking of giving it a miss as over the past couple of years it had become too politicised. Their South London Opinion page was particularly biased. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/362241-rip-slp/#findComment-1708576 Share on other sites
alice
I remember the Tuesday property supplement that must’ve earned them a few bob - all disappeared when right move et cetera put it all online. I think Southwark news took the stories ( and the readers) that SLP didn’t touch Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/362241-rip-slp/#findComment-1708577 Share on other sites
