Sephiroth Posted Sunday at 11:30 Share Posted Sunday at 11:30 MSN is an aggregator. Not a news source the source is a Nick Gutteridge article in the Telegraph so, closer to reform than BBC (I would question BBC news reliability these days mind you) It would be difficult to describe gutteridge as objective. But it would be easy to claim he is frequently wrong, bordering on bonkers https://www.telegraph.co.uk/authors/n/nf-nj/nick-gutteridge/ There is no physical reality where, as we run out of fossil fuels and turn to whatever will replace them, where existing fossil fuels don’t become more expensive not this country, not any country - you might see some short term ups and downs as politics plays its part - but to whine about your political enemies tackling the dwindling fossil fuels is both childish and playing with people’s lives Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/362429-miliband-plots-15pc-net-zero-tax-on-gas-bills/#findComment-1708974 Share on other sites

jazzer Posted Sunday at 13:41 Author Share Posted Sunday at 13:41 (edited) All I've done is post a link and you're straight on the attack, for heavens sake. And as sarky as ever. This isn't solely your forum and you don't rule the roost so stop trying to dictate and bully me. Sephiroth Posted Sunday at 14:29 Share Posted Sunday at 14:29 Your post was an attack on the tax I didn’t address or mention you in my reply. Just pointed out the problems with the article you then told be I wasn’t invited. In no way am I bullying anyone. jazzer Posted Sunday at 14:48 Author Share Posted Sunday at 14:48 "attack on the tax", I posted a link, how was that an attack? I didn't write the article, so how was that an attack on the proposed tax? Are you now saying what can and cannot be posted, when did you become Admin(NOT). Insuflo Posted Sunday at 16:28 Share Posted Sunday at 16:28 (edited) No, you didn’t write the article. But unless you’re a Telegraph subscriber, you haven’t read the article either. Have you read it? The psychopath Telegraph lives behind a (rubber) paywall but using this kind of sensationalist, accusatory headline gets it traction on social media. The headline becomes more important than the article; many will see it and some will take it as a statement of fact. And it will be shown on endless “let’s take a look at the papers” segments on TV and radio for 12 hours or more in every news day. And so, a tiny number of reactionary, right wing hacks has a vastly disproportionate influence on the popular conversation despite the papers they work for being bought by almost nobody these days. Spartacus Posted Sunday at 18:37 Share Posted Sunday at 18:37 This link.provides the full.articke using an archive site https://archive.is/J8DvF The summary is that the taxes on electricity could be removed but an equivalent levy would then be added to gas to encourage people tonusevheat pumps. Not convinced it would stay like that but it isn't quite as sensational as the headlines Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/362429-miliband-plots-15pc-net-zero-tax-on-gas-bills/#findComment-1709032 Share on other sites

In posting the link, that you may or may not have read, did you have a view? I don't believe you are neutral. It's a sensationalist headline but misleading. The heat pump sector is crying out for reduction in electricity costs and this is one way it could be achieved. Time would be better spent taking time to digest the article. malumbu Posted Sunday at 22:33 Share Posted Sunday at 22:33 So if it doesn't interest you why did you post it? If the article was titled Milliband to consider energy prices I expect it would not have been posted.
