purple sweet potato slips, grown from potatoes I bought at Brixton market in April, and now I have many more than I have room for in my garden.

 

I think this is the American "stokes" variety as their stems appear purple-ish as well. 

 

I think they contain less sugar than the more common orange/yellow sweet potatoes that are typically available in supermarkets. 

 

You'd need to grow them in a large pot or a bag in a sunny location, and water them regularly.
