Silly question, but have you reported this elsewhere as well as on here?

Eg passport office, banks (if there are bank cards), police?

Because if someone is carrying around their passport (assuming it's theirs) they must be pretty devastated if they have lost it, and it's fairly unlikely they will see this post, though fingers crossed.

Yes ofcourse was just taking a chance someone may see it and I could give it directly to them, when you send back to passport office they don't inform the person they have received it... dropped off to police station now

I found two Bolivian children's passports, pristine on the pavement in our suburban street. Concerned for the owners, I notified the police. They were rude and dismissive so I contacted the Bolivian Embassy who were helpful, grateful and keen to have them back.

My thoughts exactly when I found them I was thinking hope she is OK, have a feeling her bag was maybe snatched and then these items were just thrown.. I'm sure the police will pass it on to the passport office I just didn't have the time to get over there anytime soon. And agree they wasn't very helpful at all unfortunately I felt I was causing a problem with just handing them in !!
