Hit & Run Dulwich Village/East Dulwich Grove/Red Post Hill/Village Way Junction 24 June 2025 @ 9.52pm

Recommended Posts

Small, light coloured hatchback, no right headlight working

turning right from Dulwich Village into East Dulwich Grove

hit female cyclist full on, did not stop, accelerated away and sped off up East Dulwich Grove @ 9.52pm on Tuesday 24 June

Quite possible that the car had driven through the centre of Dulwich Village 9:45-50pm passing in front of The Real Greek, Roca, Crown & Greyhound etc…

The cyclist was badly injured

thanks to the pedestrians and car drivers who stopped and helped

Please contact the Police with any details if you witnessed the accident (some people left before the police arrived) or if you may have seen the car (Small, light coloured hatchback, no right headlight working) in Dulwich Village, East Dulwich Grove or nearby streets (Townley Road, Lordship Lane)

Do you mean when you say 'right headlight' driver side or passenger side? Right from inside the car or as it comes towards you?

My car was recently stolen by accessing the electronics via the nearside front headlight, which stopped that working.

This may be a simple hit and run or it may additionally have been a stolen car.

So sorry to hear and I hope that the cyclist recovers quickly and is not put off cycling.  I was left for dead in a hit Nd run many years ago, people stopped and came to my aid and one drove me home with the wrecked bike.  There will be CCTV the police should check. If you are in contact with the cyclist then the Motor Insurance Buteau should provide compensation, particularly if there were eye witnesses

Hope she has a speedy and full recovery.

The Police should put a sign up now at the junction asking for witnesses, nothing there yet?  Not everone looks at this forum.  They usually put them up about three months after the incident, when no-one can remember the speeding car or who was driving it!

How terrible for the cyclist. I can only imagine how shaken up she is by this event. I hope she makes a speedy recovery, physically, mentally & emotionally.

The vehicle's registration number should be easy to extract, as the area is laced with CCTV cameras. I hope they are caught.

    • One of the best of Shakespeare 's plays.  I did Othello for A level. Also seen a number of stage and film versions. Is there any specific aspects of the play that is difficult for your daughter to understand?
    • @Sue think this is your quote.  It wasn't binary, good Vs bad, and Corbyn had a lot of popular support, as evidenced by the previous election. He had aot of good policies, some picked up by others since. He was defeated by a mixture of a right wing press, good targeting the Johnson 'Get Brexit Done" and for some that Johnson was a funny loveable rogue/fool/liar/philander/opportunist.  I wouldn't see choosing the perceived least worst candidate out of the two major parties as being "good sense'.  We imagine that Corbyn would have been terrible, but we don't know.  He would have taken a stronger line against Israel in Gaza, not sucked up to Trump nut on Russia?  Would the UK be better for that?
    • We have had 4 greyhounds - the last one, a bitch, was not speyed so we  had to pay for that at our local vet.  Only one dog was nervous around children and only one was cat friendly.
    • Apologies on the tardy reply, but thank you everyone for your responses and suggestions! Unfortunately I couldn't attend the recent EDF drinks because of work (I know right). But will absolutely keep eyes peeled for the next one and try and come down!
