Hi,

My name is Margaret, I am a birth and postnatal doula.

As a birth doula, we will meet up two or three times before your baby is born to talk through your options and help you write your birth preference. After the last visit at around 37-38 weeks, I will be on call 24/7 until your baby is born. I will then accompany you to the hospital or during your homebirth, and will stay with you to offer continuous support throughout your labour and the birth of your baby. And I will come back for one more visit to see how you're getting on, when your baby is about 5-7 days old.

A postnatal doula's role is to make the early days weeks and months with your new baby a little easier. I will help you care for your baby, do light housework such as dishes and laundry, I'll make sure that the bathroom is kept clean and will change your bed regularly. I can help with breastfeeding, babywearing and car safety. And perhaps most importantly, I will look after your baby so that you can sleep or take a shower. And of course I'm here to talk through any questions or worries you may have.

I am currently working with a family in East Dulwich as a postnatal doula, but as their baby gets older my hours with them will reduce, so from August onwards I will have more availability.

Please get in touch if you'd like to know more, I look forward to hearing from you!

    • I wanted to just add that my experience has shown me that fitness classes aimed at an older demographic are often nowhere near as good or as much fun as those aiming at all and sundry.. most classes I've been to NOT aiming at 'Middle aged' people have had such a mixed bag and everyone does what they can at their own pace and this is encouraged. Do give it a go.
    • Greens have some mad polices and I am still trying to work out if it is true that the leader of the party thought he could hypnotize women to have larger breasts 🤷‍♂️ country is in a real state at the min and all party’s have a part to play in that. what the future holds who knows but it is worrying.
    • A stellar win for the Greens in Gorton and Denton, no doubt. But by-elections are funny beasts. Labour's strength traditionally has been in its ground game. Legions of canvassers over many years in many seats usually means that they are best placed to 'get out the vote' on election day. I can't quite believe that the Greens have enough data, or people, to wrest control of the council from Labour.
