Builder to look at a damp issue in Barry Road East Dulwich

Hi There,

I am looking for a recommendation of someone who can come and take a look at a damp issue in my spare room on Barry Road. This is a first floor flat. This appeared after 2 days of solid rain this weekend and considering I moved into the flat 2 weeks ago having bought it back in the summer this is just my luck..

The spare room is a kitchen conversion and upon external inspection of the side wall it appears that the damp patch coincides with where the old ventilation from the kitchen is. I therefore do not think it is a brick issue but rather a sealant issue. However, I am not a professional and would like someone to come and take a look.

I have attached some photos below.

Please let me know if you or you know someone who would be able to come and take a look.

Thanks

Richard

I'm currently using this company, who are based in Croydon: http://londondampsolutions.co.uk/

I should stress that the actual work is scheduled for next month, but they did a pre-purchase damp survey for me and put together a comprehensive report/quote. I've been quite impressed so far.

Hi Richard - yes I had to pay for the report/quote, but obviously my case is different to yours - I didn't own the house at the time and wanted a complete pre-purchase damp survey. Very much doubt they'd charge just for a quote in your case!

    • I’m basing it on the fact that Jeremy Corbyn had repeatedly and on record said he is against mandatory vaccinations in any situation, and he wouldn’t disclose wether he had the Covid vaccine himself    as I said. Not as bad as his brother but very definitely a bit weird about the whole thing. Just say you had the vaccination Jeremy, say that everyone should and stop being weird in the middle of a global pandemic    it’s the same slippery evasive nonsense about Brexit and him. About Putin poisonings and him.     if you are happy with his evasiveness then you do you.  But there is a reason the country wouldn’t get behind him
    • It was my understanding that Jeremy Corbyn was embarrassed by his brother and had distanced himself from his brother's views. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Why on earth should "the overall view of that family inform Jeremy's response to the pandemic"? What exactly are you basing that assumption on?
    • I guess it's best to do what most Brits do these days, keep your head down and say nothing! although that's probably why this country is in the mess it is today!  😞
