Admin, please move this if it's in the wrong section.

Can anybody recommend a reasonably local dietician (or possibly nutritionist? Not sure what the difference is).

My GP has suggested I see a dietician, but there isn't one attached to the practice.

I have googled, but it's very hard to tell what people may be like from an online description, and I want somebody who is properly qualified.

Alternatively, please PM me if you know of people I should avoid!

Thanks x

GP not willing to refer you on? Say, to King's or similar. Odd

It didn't occur to me to ask. No idea if dieticians are employed within the NHS.

It is just one line of enquiry among others. The GP mentioned it, not me.

some titles are "protected" ie you have to have certain qualifications and be registered with the supervising council

Dietician is registered and protected

Nutricionist is neither. Anyone can claim to be a nutricionist or chiropracter etc

Hello there...

I have gotten to know, like and trust Crystal Mendes through a local group meet. up, and can vouch for her being very knowledgable, trained and qualified, however I have not used her company.

Would suggest getting in touch via instagram for a first point conversation.

Thanks, I will  contact her.

From  the Instagram description I'm not sure it's what I'm after, but worth a conversation obviously!

Not being funny here but do you need to change your diet  for whatever reason or do you need someone to evaluate what you eat and what you should be eating.

plenty of info on line regarding this and also on nhs website.

Or are you trying to find out what you are allergic or have a reaction to.

Sure you are tech savy and can research and try.

It isn’t rocket science!!

Look further down and there is your answer in Oru Centre - hop and skip away!!

Sorry, I know I post on here a lot/too much, but I'm not going into my medical issues on here.

If I could find the information I need online, I obviously wouldn't need to see a dietician!

Thanks for trying to help, though x

I dint think that (and self describing as a Marxist) would have helped much when Labour was changed under Starmer. There was a purge of people as far left as him that he was lucky to survive once in my opinion.   Stuff like this heavy endorsement of Momentum and Corbyn. It doesn't wash with a party that is in actual government.   https://labourlist.org/2020/04/forward-momentum-weve-launched-to-change-it-from-the-bottom-up/
    • I perceive the problem.simply as spending too much without first shoring up the economy.  If the government had reduced borrowing,  and as much as most hate the idea, reduced government deiartment spending (so called austerity) and not bowed to union pressures for pay rises, then encouraged businesses to grow, extra cash would have entered the coffers and at a later stage when the economy was in a stronger position rises in NI or taxes would have a lesser impact, but instead Reeves turned that on its head by increasing ni which has killed growth, increased prices and shimmied the economy.  What's worse is that the perceived 20 billion black hole has increased to 30 billion in a year. Is there a risk that after 5 years it could be as high as 70 billion ???
    • That petition is bananas.   If you want a youth centre there pay the landlord the same rent a Londis would and build it yourself or shut the f**k up to be honest. Wasting our MPs time with this trivial nonsense is appalling. If your kids are still out at 1am on a school night you've got bigger problems than vapes and booze and hot sausage rolls.
