Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a RIC’s surveyor, specifically for the roof in the local area. I think the type of survey is called a defects survey and I did have a look on the RICS website but there seems to just be a few in London who do these. Each cost about £1k.

We have had a few roofing contractors on the roof over the years but they each seem to have a different opinion, so I would like an independent evaluation. I keep getting leaks every few years even after repair work done.

Best wishes

I had a roofing inspector check a roof for me after bad work was done and I didn't know how to resolve it.

I can't remember if he was from The Association of Master Roofers or The National Federation of Roofing Contractors.  He didn't do rooves any more, he just did inspections and gave advice on what needed doing to solve a problem.

Might be worth contacting those organisations and see if they have an inspector/surveyor as I'm sorry, I no longer have the details of how I found him.

Just wondering if you had already used Russell Perring (Perrin?) because I've always found him very reliable, honest  and efficient.

In the unlikely event you still got leaks after he had done a repair, I'm sure he would sort it.

It might be worth asking him to have a look at the roof, I'm sure he wouldn't charge you for advice.

I have no idea if he still works in this area, but the number I have for him is  07852 972052 .
