Sorry this is so late.

On the 23rd August we now have two rides.  One is a longish ride to Hackney Marshes  that is Wait List only at present. Important note about this ride. After further route checking Gloria says may nay take longer than we thought, so now expects to finish 2pm rather than 1.30pm.  The other ride we are posting here will be relatively short,  Bruce leading a new version of his 6 Bridges ride

Additional 2nd ride for Aug 23rd.  Six Thames Bridges Ride from Peckham < https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/six-bricges-ride-from-peckham-tickets-1600744141819?aff=oddtdtcreator >
10.00 am to 12.30 pm. Start/finish Peckham Square, next to Peckham Library and Peckham Pulse Leisure Centre, SE15 5RY.   Will alternate bridges starting with Tower Bridge, then Southwark and Waterloo. Back over Westminster, Blackfriars and London Bridges. Mostly segregated cycle lanes plus sections of quiet road and very short stretches of busier road. If time coffee stop at the Churros Van on the South Bank. Interesting to compare the arrangements for cycling that are different on each bridge. Nice easy, flat ride. Bruce leading.  More info in ride Reports from January 24 and November 2024.  Route at https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1cUOalO2r3hWwEsezdLKUeQA8iGuRTDA&usp=sharing

Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Same for “adults at risk”. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users feel safe.  If you cannot make a ride, please cancel so that someone else can take the place. These rides are part of a regular programme of Saturday rides, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/

    • Doesn't surprise me that you expressed your appreciation of foxes. You feel strongly about them, fine. Perhaps they don't leave a nightly pile of poo in your garden or you don't need to deal with it. Life is too short to argue the point. I have neighbours who feed the foxes and tell me the rubbish  they feed them. Foxes are wild creatures, by feeding them [people are making them reliant on humans to feed them. I guess they don't have to clear up their nightly mess. It actually becomes a tiresome chore and hence my loathing of the fox. They are a protected vermin. Don't mess or come into my garden. no problem, leave their mess it becomes an issue.
    • Some folk are constantly putting household refuse, which includes food, in litter bins, which crafty foxes then liberate and eat (as well as leaving non-edibles strewn all over the place). If you’re doing this, please stop and use your own bin!  Why use bleach? It’s harmful to all forms of life. Just rinse the poo away with tepid, soapy water.
