At least two excellent choices, The Old Cheshire Cheese is easy to find but you can get lost once you are in it!

Away from London the Crack (Ye Cracke)  in Liverpool and the Turf Tavern in Oxford.  Both down alley ways.

Off at a slight tangent Sirena's Italian restaurant in the old Royal Doulton building, Black Prince Road, Lambeth.  Down a set up of steps into Narnia.  Sadly closed in 2016 due to redevelopment into office space.

Good thread!

(we were discussing the Cardinal/Windsor Castle near Westminster Cathedral which is hidden away on one entrance)

The Seven Stars in Holborn.

Don't know if the cat still wears a ruff and sits on the bar. The original cat must be long gone.

You have to go up extremely steep wooden steps to reach the loo, and upstairs is quite ....weird.

Frequented by lawyers, for obvious reasons given its location, but off the main drag.

Reminds me of the Dog and Bell in Deptford, another out the way pub and another hidden gem ling since discovered.  Both the Seven Stars and Dog and Bell have expanded into the adjoining buildings.

Royal Oak in Borough.  Yes, yet another hidden gem!

    • Our grey tabby Milo has a habit of inviting himself into people’s home, especially in the Summer. If he’s visiting you, please don’t feed him or encourage him to stay.  We’re keen to get him back as he’s behind on his meds, and overdue his yearly check-up. He also has digestive problems so can get unwell if fed the wrong foods. Don’t be fooled into thinking he’s a stray – he’s chipped and had a collar, but has a habit of losing them pretty regularly. He lives on Spurling Road. The kids miss him terribly, as does his ginger sister Daisy. If he’s invited himself into yours, please encourage him to leave! We've not seen him for a few weeks now so we're very worried. If you’ve seen him please message me on 07790 907733.
    • The Woodwarde Road clinic has got so expensive  - £74 for 10/15 minutes nail cutting, Earlier in the year I paid £68.  Does anyone know of a cheaper clinic? Have friends who are on basic pensions and benefits who are finding it hard to finance these costs. NHS funded podiatry is virtually non existence - even if diabetic - you  face  long waits.
