On Aug 30th we will have 2 rides, one short local ride led by Eduardo and another AwayDay led by Jamie.  The short ride details are not settled yet. We hope to circulate those on Tuesday. Details of the Awayday ride are now available for booking on Eventbrite.

Mission  To visit the estate that surrounds the largest inhabited Castle in the World.
Coordinating instructions and timings
The ride will depart from outside Virginia Water Train Station at 10 am sharp on Saturday 30th August and is expected to finish back at Virginia Water Train Station by 5pm.
Please note that the finish time cannot be guaranteed in the event of unforeseen issues on the day. This is not a suitable ride for riders with tight agendas that evening.
Note: A specific section of this event may involve some walking over steep and uneven ground where Bicycles are not permitted. It is thus only suitable for fit and experienced riders.

Transport
Riders are advised to book their return rail tickets to Virginia Water Station in advance.

Rations and Water
A coffee break will take place on arrival at Windsor Great Park.
We will stop for an hour at the Fox and Hounds for a snack. Riders are welcome to bring their own picnic.

ABC bike checks
Riders are urged to carry out a basic ABC pre-check before the event. A = Air in tyres, B = Brakes, C = Chain & Gears etc. There should be no play in the steering.

Equipment
Riders are advised to bring: water bottle, fleece, waterproof jacket and trousers. A lock will also be necessary for this ride.
General information. Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Same for “adults at risk”. • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
    • One wonders if he would have defected if he had, ahem, held on to the leadership of Southwark and whether he felt that "Labour are no longer the vehicle for social justice" during his leadership election........my how quickly things change in the thoughts of a politician 😉 I think this sums things up quite nicely: A senior Southwark Labour spokesperson hit back: “Local residents can draw their own conclusions about Cllr McAsh’s swift move from Labour leadership hopeful to the Green Party, after he didn’t get his own way. While he’s thinking about his own career, Southwark Labour are delivering for residents.” One wonders if he will stand as a Green candidate in Goose Green.
    • No doubt if he determines to stand for a ward he will enlighten us - at least his track record is one of using this site to communicate (inter alia). I would suspect that (1) his personal views on traffic will have remained consistent but that (2) his views on local democracy and proper consultation will have as well.
    • Yes, but I want to know where he stands on all this stuff now. My feeling is it won't be any different from Labour?
