Sephiroth
Oh for FFS. So much pussyfooting around fly the flag if you want to, people have been doing it for centuries but if you will not see what is going on here and now, these divorced-dad energy simpletons, their racist chants and their whole motivation being intimidation, then I can’t help you. You are ignoring what is in front of your face Reason won’t work with you. You will view the videos this week from Nuneaton and Halifax and shrug and go “unrelated”. Because you refuse to see at the height of the British troubles in Ireland, I would wince at Irish tricolour flags after an ira atrocity. Because Irish people could argue they weren’t related. And yet.. 3 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/366285-fly-the-flag/page/3/#findComment-1718928 Share on other sites
MrCheeky
7 hours ago, Angelina said: You can read it to be that everyone who flies a flag is racist and anti all immigration if you want, but that isn’t the case and it’s a very extreme view. It’s very dangerous to go down that road and dismiss real issues because you don’t agree with them. The law around immigration is being amended, as it is widely known that the laws were set when immigration levels were lower, not the levels of today and the future. there whats known as onIine gangsters none of them wouId ever say it to our faces . Obviously not everyone who flies it or carries it or displays it on their clothing is a racist violent thug, but unfortunately when I (and probably others) see it flown or worn, that is what comes to mind. And religion is many things to many people, but to say it's for the "lesser minded" folk says more about you than about them. you are whats known as a radicaI Karen ive seen you kissing ass of them on here you shouId be ashamed of yourseIf.hope you age AIone wicked person .. Earl Aelfheah
1 hour ago, Angelina said: perhaps your view that everyone is demonstrating against something is skewing your perception. What are they 'demonstrating' for then? Because they've been reported as 'anti-immigration' demonstrations. Perhaps they're not that. So what are they exactly? 2 hours ago, Angelina said: The issue, with children starting school again, is that there is an unknown risk, and people want to know their children are safe, which they do not. This by the way - the suggestion that children are at risk from immigrants - is the definition of xenophobia. I don't believe there is any evidence at all that people born overseas pose a particular risk to children, compared with those born in the UK. Most violence against children occurs in the home. We do know for a fact that many of those behind the 'raise the flag' campaign have histories of violence, including domestic violence. Angelina
You can seek better understanding by following interviews with people; you may find people are quite unaffected by being labelled right wing/ racist. you may also find that the local council is also anti the hotel use, it’s not just individuals Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/366285-fly-the-flag/page/3/#findComment-1718943 Share on other sites

I do think that the demonstrations are fundamentally xenophobic in nature. Clearly there is a fear that immigrants pose a particular risk to children and others. I think this is misguided and we know that some of it is being driven by misinformation, false 'research reports' and made up data (by the likes of the 'centre for migration control', a front for Reform). No one wants a hotel used to house asylum seekers who are being held in limbo for long periods of time. But attacking the asylum seekers and setting fire to hotels isn't making that point. Sephiroth
Given what I’ve said about him, not sure why he “agreed” with my earlier post @spartacus noone on here is suggesting anyone is “punched in the balls”. On here. Like linehan has done and he was apprehended and charged just like that labour councillor was. So all is above board @angelina im sorry but your posts are making less and less sense as the thread goes on. Who should we be reading? What interviews specifically do you recommend?
