I don't really care about political sleaze in this  i am more concerned about thjle ability to run.a country without running it into the ground.

Currently, labout seem to be heading straight towards the rocks, ignoring the warning blasts from the economic ighthouse.

The country is headed straight for a financial iceberg on 26th November. Starmer can rearrange the chairs on the deck of the Titanic, but we all know what happened. We are already ina depression which will only get deeper until one Party can turn things around, but on the current performance there is no saving us. Doom and gloom yes, but also reality kicking in.

Given her role, she pretty much had to go. I don't think she is an avid tax-schemer who deliberately set out to avoid tax - I do pretty much believe her story of multiple high-profile roles and looking after a child with needs. But many regular voters juggle demanding jobs and families and are afforded no leeway by taxman, so she totally should have known better

But here we are - she was found to be negligent and now she has suffered teh consequence. To me that its the OPPOSITE of all parties/politicians as generally the ignore the whole thing (today we have Tice saying Farage's tax affairs are of no interest to voters for example)

And it would be poor form to not acknowledge why she was targeted quite so viciously - we even have posters on here here saying "when I saw her taping on a boat that was the  end for me" - like the end of what?. Her gender and class were clear motivators for many people. Two wrongs don't make a right - but it';s interesting to see some posters on here give so many others a blank cheque. Many are planning to vote for Farage despite his dishonesty being 100x worse than Rayner

PS - I don't think she will join Corbyn party - unlike him she is smart and unlike him she recognises that being In power means you can at least stand a chance of delivering results

This. The Greens will have a rise in the polls on back of new leader but that is one hell of a coalition of NIMBY/YIMBYs

As what would Reform do if in government to help with... well, anything?

Labour can at least point to decreasing waiting lists, lower immigration numbers, not having a different PM every 6 months - not that anyone is listening

The new Greens leader is another nut job who should be in an asylum for his own good.

Starmers swift reshuffle was surprising, so lets see how things stand in 6 months to see if it made any difference.

Question to ask, why did he get rid of the Leader of the House and the Scottish Secretary? What did they do wrong to be sacked?

The rest of his appointments are moving people around who are already in Cabinet. Does he have no faith in what they did or didn't do?

Hopefully Reform will not make the advances they hope too, way to far right wing.

It won’t be a truss event

we might not  LIKE the budget but economists and others know the financial hole Uk is in (thanks to Brexit, austerity and the last govt) and will respect any considered and thoughtful response to that problem

Truss… did none of those things. But isn’t it weird how little criticism she faced from some people on here. Then and now

Yeah, it's almost like they've got an agenda

Indeed. Although, for some, “agenda@ would be too strong a word for the merely reactionary.  Agenda suggests an element of strategy and clever thought

Don't forget the impact of the last banking crisis, covid, furlough and the energy price impact on the economy or aren't those factors that caused a financial black hole in your view of the world?

The banking crisis was a global event which enabled the Tories victory and to this day is somehow used against Labour

covid and furlough are under events which impacted economy.  But guess what? Not just the uk economy!

energy prices a result of the Russian invasion, something Johnson said would never happen and as we seek to remove ourselves from non-renewable and Russian controlled natural resources, we have Tories and reform condemning Labour for pursuing renewables. Something most other sane countries are doing

We must also not forget the mad relative in the attic.  Brexit.  Something which contributed massively both to the black hole and to the foreseeable future lack of growth

(this is something starmer has also bizarrely tied himself to. Presumably in an attempt to placate the media/loons who think it was a good idea but which will fail in both aims)

Ah, so unforeseeable events didn't add to the "black hole"

Gotcha

The discussion has been about the silence from certain posters about Truss's disastrous actions. Your 'gotcha' is merely a deflection.

Agreed Truss was unhinged with the budget Kwasi pushed through, not disagreeing with you, very surprisingly.
