NO 12 BUS ALONG BARRY ROAD

No 12 bus terminating at peckham rye

We noticed this on Friday whilst trying to find a way down the hill. 

Several times over the weekend we've walked all the way down to Nigel Road to get a bus north, since the only services available are the 197 and 363 coming down Barry Road.

I saw a 40 coming up barry road from peckham rye end this morning , had to drop daughter off at peckham as no 12s there were about 4 lined up at peckham rye

It has been on diversion since thr 1st September and will resume when the works at the library complete (no dates available)

This, Peckham Rye being closed off with its buses, the tube strike... and we're told we should be using public transport and not our cars. Not even have cars in case they're needed. Because our masters tell us they're not needed.

If you can get to Underhill Road use the P13, just an idea.

But agreed with the 63, 363 and now 12 curtailed it makes travelling much more challenging and difficult. Is the 197 able to go from Peckham to Croydon via Dulwich Still?

I have seen the 197 still coming up and down barry road 

63s and 363s are coming up and down barry road aswell

363s are diverting along Barry Road, 63s are terminating early 

197s are running fairly normaly subject to delays at the library end 

 

PECKHAM RYE, SE22: ROUTE 63 is cutting short of the normal service route due to emergency Thames Water works. Towards Therapia Road, the last bus stop served will be 'The Gardens' (WQ). Towards Kings Cross Station, the first bus stop served will be 'Peckham Rye / Barry Road' (WE). Please allow extra time for your journey.

 

PECKHAM RYE, SE22: ROUTES 363 and N63 are on diversion in both directions via Barry Road and Lordship Lane due to emergency Thames Water works. Towards Crystal Palace, bus stops from 'Friern Road' (WP) to 'Underhill Road' (MC) will be missed. Towards Lambeth Road, bus stops from 'Underhill Road / Melford Riad' (MB) to Friern Road (WB) will be missed. Please allow extra time for your journey.

The P13 is a bit unreliable,  unfortunately. In my experience anyway, on several occasions.

And it only (in theory) runs about every 15 minutes, I think.

So it's probably a good idea to check on the TFL app for the wait for the next bus. Not that that's always very reliable either 😢

There is additional work scheduled for Friern Road by Thames Water hence 12s cannot terminate a Dulwich Library,

Froom 15th September, Thames Water works in Barry Road and temporary traffic lights.

When there were issues with the termination and turning of the 12s in the past, I seem to remember them going down Lordship Lane, around the Goose Green Roundabout then back up Lordship Lane to stack outside the Plough. This, I think, occurred even with the new route masters (obviously not the bendy buses) 

Pity they aren't doung that this time.
