On the 13h Sept have just one ride arranged at present with a 9am start.  We expect to post a second ride by Tues 9th.

This ride is a nice challenge. Rride the entire Wandle Trail on a Saturday morning starting from London Bridge (Southwark Needle, south east side of London Bridge). In fact we are going to cheat a bit by ending the ride at East Croydon Station. So bring your Travel Pass or equivalent to get home by train.  This ride is Amanda’s idea and she will be leading. Total ride distance is 19 miles and we are planning to finish by 2pm following a 9am start. This should allow time for looking around at some of the interesting parts of the Trail and having a coffee break. Parts of the trail are not surfaced and can be quite uneven, so difficult on narrow wheels with tyres inflated hard.
Route outline. From London Bridge take Cycleway 10 to Waterloo.  Over Westminster Bridge and along the cycle lane on the embankment to and over Chelsea Bridge and into Battersea Park. Thames Path to the start of the trail where the River Wandle meets the Thames.  Nice stretches include Abbey Water Mill, Morden Hall Park, Carshalton Ponds and Beddington Park.

Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Same for “adults at risk”. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users feel safe.  If you cannot make a ride, please cancel so that someone else can take the place. These rides are part of a regular programme of Saturday rides, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/

A second short ride is now planned for 13h Sept, Bruce leading a relaxed meander around Dulwich. At this time Wait List only.

Ride 2, Sept 13th.  Exploring Dulwich + Murals  < https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/exploring-dulwich-murals-cycle-ride-tickets-1680277839249?aff=oddtdtcreator  >  Start 10am, Dulwich Clock Café in middle of Dulwich Park. Bruce leading a 2½ hour ride, so back 12.30. Did you know Dulwich had a Castle? And a working Toll Booth and a famous football team? Will also be looking for some of the outdoor art organised by the Dulwich Picture Gallery and spread around the area. Come and join us. • But people getting up for work or if they’re a carer having to get up after a few hours sleep would know it’s gone 11pm as they’re kept awake by selfish people!
    • I agree. Midnight I can understand when it's celebrating the start of a new year (under whatever system) but not otherwise. Though re the wildlife, it's going to affect them whatever time it is, I don't suppose they know it's gone 11pm!
    • Looking for someone naughty on the ground? What other reason would there be, if it hasn't landed anywhere?
    • Yes I get your gist, but maybe you could just name a few of the very many you mention? I'm not sure why you find it very concerning that somebody would leave Labour for the Greens? So have many people, including me.
