Hi, we are a friendly creative couple who get on well with our flatmates/lodgres, many of whom have become good friends over the years.

We work in the coffee industry and digital marketing and love to travel, hang out in local places, watch movies, walk our lovely dog and visit family and friends in London and further afield. Our home is a beautiful place we enjoy sharing with flatmates/lodgers. It has a positive, no-drama vibe, which is important to us. It’s got lots of plants, is kept clean and tidy, and we are looking for two more lovely, self-aware humans to add to this communal feel of the house. If you value your space, your mental health, and a home where you can enjoy a healthy, balanced life, this could be a good spot to stop & breathe in.

We’ve a gorgeous, bright, and airy double room (for one person). Overlooking the back garden in a big Georgian house. Monthly cost is £1250 including bills (electricity, gas, water, broadband, council tax and the cost of a cleaner coming each week to clean all shared areas of the house.)

The Room:
- Is a generous double bedroom for one person, thoughtfully decorated
- Beautiful, large sash window with leafy views and natural light
- High ceilings, a cosy carpet, central heating, and blackout blinds/curtains for the best sleep
- Built-in wardrobes with sensor lighting, plus chests of drawers for decent storage
- Desk and chair
- Comfortable low double bed you can actually stretch out in
- Enough floor space for your Pilates/ yoga practice

The house:

- it’s a big, light and airy with real personality, (Georgian period) lots of art, plants and books
- cleaned professionally every week, is tidy, and homely
- with great central heating and ventilation in the summer
- all rooms have lovely big sash windows
- It is on a quiet road and has a lovely back garden

Dining/ lounge: Round designer “tulip” dining table in the high-ceiling dining/living room with a great bay window overlooking the back garden and a couple of generous 3 person sofas to chill in and chat, or just chill.

Kitchen: Big and light, with lots of space to prepare your meals, there's an AGA cooker, 2 fridge/freezers, dishwasher, washing machine and the kitchen overlooks and open out to the private back garden.

Bathroom: Your bathroom is large with a bath/shower, basin and WC as well as underfloor heating, generous storage space and towel heater. There's a WC on the ground floor, too. And we have another bathroom that two of us use.

Garden: We have a great back garden with table and chairs, a front garden with storage space for 2 bikes and great front stoop steps for sitting out on a sunny day watching the world go by with a hot cup of coffee/tea.

The neighbourhood: Camberwell Grove, if you’re not familiar with it, is a beautiful road with huge old trees, and it’s a friendly creative neighbourhood. We know all our neighbours and love the friendly vibe and good energy. It’s close to East Dulwich, Peckham and Brixton and close to loads of parks.

Transport links are:
Denmark Hill (4 mins) to Farringdon, Victoria, and East London, as well as East Dulwich station (7 mins), has trains to London Bridge. Buses 40, 185, and 176 run right to the end of our road, and it's a well-serviced area in terms of shops and quick trips to Brixton, Peckham, and Elephant and Castle.

    • The BBC is one of the finest, if not the finest, broadcasters in the world.  They have been admired by many across the world for their journalism.  There have been numerous arrests since their recent expose on convenience shops that cover ups for criminals - money laundering, contraband,  illegal workers and the like. By no means perfect and some of what they have done in the modern world is questionable - the website often comes across as tabloid or sensationalist, as do some of their documentaries, and at times it is full of low grade game shows, fly on the wall etc which bring the punters and money, including overseas, in but is not quality TV.  In their desperation for 'balance' they've given too much air time and credibility to some more extreme views, which contributed to Brexit and some of the rise in right wing parties.  I wish they'd say 'the convicted criminal' every time they talk about Yaxley Lenon. The programme was clumsy, why it didn't go through proper clearance including the lawyers, I don't know.  But it created zero stir at the time. Zero.  And had no impact on the election, so Trump has no case.  I hope they don't cave in like many of the US corporations and media.  Oh and well done to South Park using the small p*nis defence in ridiculing him. What I expect is as the Beeb is pretty centrist in it;s reporting in riles some of those who thrive on the toxic populism we have seen since Trump mark 1 and Brexit.  How sad.
    • I understand from Pao that they are taking a short break but will be re-opening on Tuesday 25th November and also that there will be a sign in the window tomorrow, by way of confirmation. Meanwhile, greatly  missed!
