Back with the utination problems today! Daughter 4.7y was diagnosed 2 weeks ago with vaginal strep (confirmed by swabs) and prescribed amoxicillin. We took the course completely and things seemed to clear up very well. Today I've taken her back to the doctors when she woke with green discharge again, more swabs taken and another course of amoxicillin prescribed. School haven't allowed her in today and think she is best with me as she has not passed urine since 6 last night! She is desperate, dancing around but petrified to allow urine to flow because of stinging pain 'down there' it's very red and irritated, I completely understand her fears. I've tried to calm her, reassure her, hold cold tissue while she wees. Any tips? I'm really frustrated were back to this, 20 hours with no urination is way too long!
I have considered that but at the same time don't want her needing to go in the bath for every wee. She is complaining of pain sitting in her regular baths, she doesn't have any products in there because of her skin conditions so it's not that. Will try shower method.

She has now been, without any help but a lot of encouragement and praise! Its so difficult to see them like this, I get in a panic with the withholding. Now to school or not to school tomorrow, will have to see how she gets on with needing the toilet next time. I really don't want her feeling uncomfortable at school. Shame though today was the first day she actually really wanted to go, she's found it really tough to settle!!!

Thank you all xxx

    • Have you thought about applying for a Taxicard for her? They have black cabs, although also Addison Lee so you'd have to request a black cab. The service is subsidised to the user for a set number of journeys each month. She can have someone with her for journeys. You apply through your local borough. • Is there a local black cabbie that lives locally that would be Interested in helping me drop me and my mum weekly to Sainsbury dog kennel hill ? She in a wheelchair but can’t get out of it because of her stroke. She needs to stay in the wheelchair while the car moves.    thank you    jo
    • So important to give them the best chance. You can buy bells on Amazon I’ve bought the cheap collars on amazon and find they fray quickly and aren’t great quality. The bells don’t really make a noise either. I’ve also bought a posh one from Pets Couture and it’s absolutely beautiful, got a proper bell and still looks like new after nearly a whole year! Definitely worth the money
    • I completely agree. A cat with a bell comes into my garden and sits patiently beneath the bird feeders. Sometimes I hear the bell first and can chase him out before he gets there, and hopefully birds can also hear the bell (but only when he's actually moving). This has got worse since prickly rambling rose stems were removed from fences at the back of the garden. I'm looking at what cat deterrents I can put there. You have probably done this already, but if not you might want to look at ways you can try to stop the cats getting into your garden  in the first place? It's very difficult. I love both cats and birds, but  as you say, cats will be cats.
