I had assumed that this must be a scam due to the .co.uk domain (rather than police.uk or gov.uk), but it appears the be legit: https://www.met.police.uk/police-forces/metropolitan-police/areas/campaigns/2025/stay-informed-with-met-engage/

What on earth were they thinking setting up a site that could so easily be spoofed?!

Because it's easier to set up a .co.uk domain than a subdomain of police uk. Not saying right.

When you dig into the site, there's an ancillary domain also involved in the system: neighbourhoodalert.co.uk;  and one pointed to by the latter as an example, stayintheknow.co.uk, which seems to have been set up by Lancashire.  All three long validated by Nominet and with same registrar.

At the Dulwich Hill SNT meeting last night we spoke about Met. Engage. Dulwich Hill had signed up 185 households.

Scheme  had been trialled in other parts of the country successfully and now the Met. Police are rolling it out, To the end of August, the Met Police had gathered 17,000 registrations which equites to 2% of households.

And why are you required to Register? They are a Police Service, not the FBI or CIA.

Erm... guessing it's like any service... so you can receive/be part of something relevant to you in the area where you happen to reside.

You don't have to sign up but you might miss out on an excellent Tesco offer or two. 🤷‍♀️
