Thanks v much Dresswaves - I've emailed Scenic.

And yes, lightweight, happy to share information. I've also contacted a company (also near West Wickham) called Roberts Windows whom we visited 6 months ago and whose showroom was pretty much what we wanted:

We've literally just had 9 upvc sash windows replaced by Bespoke Windows in Dulwich this week, and we're absolutely delighted with them. We looked around and felt that Bespoke's were the most sympathetic aesthetically to wood. Simple things like the window seals are white as opposed to black like everyone else's. Also the proportions were the closest to wooden sash windows, others are too chunky. Murray the MD comes around and his passion for his product and service shines through. Also the guys that fitted the windows, Father and son team called Jack and Ryan were really impressive, they sealed the rooms like a crime scene to prevent mess and we're polite, friendly and utterly trustworthy.

All in all i thought they were fantastic. Whether Bespoke are the very cheapest i couldn't say, certainly cheaper than the big national companies who quoted, but if you're after the best looking alternative to wood i'd seriously consider giving them a look. I've never recommended any company or tradesmen before but we're so happy with ours that i felt compelled.

    • If weeds are allowed to grow for too long they lift pavements and create obvious tripping hazards. Obviously removing them from your wall and/or garden is unacceptable.
    • This is NEXT WEDNESDAY 11 June! Just turn up if you prefer not to give prior notice! The Palmerston from  7pm, turn left as you come in! (If you have been hiding under a rock, The Palmerston is the pub on Lordship Lane on the corner of North Cross Road).
    • Yes, at first I assumed that the bin men had taken flowering plants from my front garden while getting at my brown food bin, instead of reaching over the wall. I was very confused as I couldn't see any obvious gaps. Surely taking Toadflax from a resident's wall is not part of the council's remit? What next, are they going to come round and trim hedges in front gardens? 🤬
    • Oh, so that was the council.  Someone ripped some lovely flowering Toadflax from our wall and threw it in the gutter.  I assumed that a child had done it.  How strange?
