The next Forum Drinks will be upstairs at the EDT (East Dulwich Tavern, on the corner by Goose Green roundabout) on Wednesday 15 October from 7pm onwards. Come any time at  or after 7!

We have a space reserved in the area to the right as you come into the upstairs room from the stairs (the end of the room where the windows are) .

The upstairs bar won't be open, so please buy a drink before you come up!

Do come and chat to other forum members in real life. There is no need to divulge your forum name if you would rather not.

This is a social event, and not intended to be for publicising  your business -  there are other ways to do this on the forum.

If you have mobility or other  problems which make  stairs difficult for you, please  message me on here beforehand, and we can make arrangements to help you up (and down) the stairs.

ETA: Oops! I double posted but deleted the wrong post! Sorry if you had responded to the other one!

Anyone know what this means?

No.

No idea.

The forum drinks are supposed to be a friendly get together for people to meet and chat, which so far they have been.

That wasn't a helpful post, Cancerian. Perhaps you could explain it?

😇is it all old people

Yes, we were all absolutely ancient.

We all had to leave by 8pm to go to bed with our mugs of cocoa and hot water bottles.

I could hardly totter home after my half pint of milk stout 🤣

    • Fair point. But this is the same Starmer, as I said before, that was seen to be the adult in the room pre-election, following the recent run of chancers, crazies and failures?  I really think the demonisation of him is wrong and it seems to be an epidemic. Johnson got away with things because he was this funny clown.  May was seen to be wooden but didn't attract the same backlash and she facked up Brexit. I saw Corbyn speak as a back bencher and he was excellent.  Didn't make him a great leader.  What would are country have looked like if Brown had got in.  Another person demonised by the media due to his bank manager persona. Yes, I get it, that we lampoon our politicians, based on some of their personal characteristics.  Life was so much more fun during the original series of Spitting Image,  Many politicians loved their send ups.  Some even bought the models/puppets.  Blair was first seen as a little school boy sitting between Prescot in his boiler suit, and Becket perhaps unfairly characterised.  Not sure how they'd send him up as a (alleged) war criminal....  Just concerned that we are now so shallow in considering politics. Anyway, it is not just Starmer, it is his party, in particular his advisors. But perhaps give him a break.
