Advice plumbing dishwasher

I need to fit a ypiece to add a dishwasher for water input. Is A the red arrow likely to be the input for my washing machine? So I need to put the Y piece there? Seems weird it’s by the u bend….

Not sure about the word “input” - do you mean outflow / waste ? Red figure A looks like the sink overflow. If B is the washing machine outflow then that’s where you want your Y fitting. ( assuming all above conjecture is correct). I’d put a cap on that chrome threaded dead connection too. Don’t just rely on the valve. It all looks a bit of a mess TBH 🫣.

Thanks, yes I need the y piece for the water to go to IN both washing machine AND the dishwasher but the y piece doesn’t fit on the B yellow pipe… 

I’m not worried about the waste pipe for now, I’m just concerned about the supply to get water in to both appliances

If it’s the supply you want then it’s nothing at all to do with your items A & B.

Thanks. I just turned water off at mains and got someone strong to attempt to twist the nozzle behind the chrome threaded valve, but it wouldn't budge
