HMKay
This beautiful cream cot blanket dates from the late 1950s and is a rare find. It's made of 'original' Viyella (a mixture of 55% fine merino wool and 45% long-staple cotton blended in a traditional twill weave). Developed in England in 1893, Viyella was the world’s first patented material and soon became renowned for its softness and durability. The blanket measures 140 x 140 cm (55 x 55 in). It has a woollen fringe around all four sides, and each corner is decorated with flowers embroidered in a delicate pink and cream pattern. It's in mint condition. Cash payment and collection from Clapham area required Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/368558-rare-vintage-viyella-cot-blanket-%E2%80%93-cream-with-embroidered-pink-flowers-%C2%A325/ Share on other sites
