technotom
Has anybody on here got any experience of covering a flat roof with sedum trays? We have a GRP (fibreglass) flat roof above our ground floor rear extension that would be suitable for this, but it's immediately below our rear bedroom window, so wondering if we might end being plagued with insects when the window is open in the summer. Also worried it might get damaged by pigeon poo and/or turn into a cat toilet, since there's lots of passing traffic! ElenaR
Have applied the green roof at a number of properties and no issues you are concerned about detected. Have issues with cats defecating in the vicinity, however, they are not selecting the green roof specifically. Use decent compost, slow release fertiliser specific for green roofs, and lay it methodically not leaving blank patches. It looks amazing when cared for and adds value. 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/368738-greensedum-flat-roof/#findComment-1724507 Share on other sites
technotom
Thank you both. That's really helpful. Will see if we have the budget left next year when we've finished some other work on the house, but would love to do this.
