The next forum drinks will be on Wednesday 19 November from  7pm onwards, in the lounge upstairs at the EDT (The East Dulwich Tavern, on the corner of Lordship Lane by the  Goose Green roundabout).

We will have a space in the same area as before (turn right at the top of the stairs and go past the bar).

The upstairs bar will be closed, so please buy a drink downstairs before you come up.

If you have mobility or other things which make stairs difficult for you, please message me and we can  make arrangements to help.

Also please message me if you have any questions.

Looking forward to seeing "old" and new faces!

Thanks to the EDT for hosting us!

Just to clarify, this is purely a friendly social occasion for people to meet each other, and not specifically intended to be to discuss matters relating to East Dulwich or the forum (though you can if you want to, of course!)

And you don't have to divulge your forum name (though again, you can if you want to!)

You can come at any time after 7pm, and of course can leave at any time!

This is tonight!

It is a friendly social meetup to get to know other forum members over drinks.

You can arrive and leave at any time from 7pm onwards. We will put a "forum drinks" notice on one of the tables so that hopefully you can't miss us!

It is not to discuss forum matters (unless you want to), and you don't have to divulge your forum name (unless you want to).

Should you be worried, so far there have been no fisticuffs, just friendly chats, so hopefully it will stay that way!

Looking forward to seeing new and "old" faces!

Do message me if you have any questions!

Sorry about the strange formatting, I posted this in the events section by mistake, and it went a bit weird when I tried to copy it over.

Thanks to those who came to the November drinks! Some interesting conversations, as always!

We may give the December drinks a miss (as it's such a busy time for socialising and people have other things on)  and restart in January.

If anyone has any strong feelings one way or another, please let us know as we have to book the space!

    • I have written and complained about the 'consultation'. The notice given was not adequate. Placing the in person consultation in Peckham means that it was not really accessible to many people - e.g.older people, some women and people with some disabilities that might not want to travel some distance to this venue on a cold dark evening. They effectively excluded many local residents. The offer of one online consultation is also not adequate and would not be accessible to people without digital access or who work during the day.  I think that this breaches the council's duties under the Equality Act. I did get a helpful response from Jon Hartley, Dulwich Hill. Sadly he has not been selected to stand in next year's elections. Our other councillor, Maggie Browning, is on maternity leave and there appears to be no cover. I also emailed the Leader and Ellie Reeves. Happy to support an online petition. I assume that it needs to be on the Southwark website.
