I am having difficulties in finding a builder to replace an internal wall between kitchen and shower room. Have contacted 3 'Which approved builders- one never replied, the other visited on 16th  October and  still awaiting his estimate. The other was due a couple of weeks ago but his car broke down, rebooked for today but had calls saying that he has spent last 20 minutes driving around Barry/Goodrich/Landells Roads trying to park. Did not want to chance parking on yellow lines!  Parking around ED is now putting off contractors.  He is going to give me an alternative date and I will move my car from my drive the night before so he can park there.

Need to find other reputable building companies willing to work in ED

Seems like "which approved" is worth nothing same as "check a trade" and "my builder" ...

read between the lines ... How long you are waiting for the quote ? 🤐

And another builder always have bad luck with act of god etc ... 🥱🥱🥱

If I want a job as a builder you'll get a quote from me within 24 hours ...

And I won't be moaning about parking or broken down vehicle ...

His car didn't break down he was at another job

He wasn't driving around to find car park near you because he was driving to work (his work)

((I work in this area throughout the year and never had an issue with parking ))

    • I’m not an expert either but surely having that high of affordable housing would seem like a terrible investment. My guess is that they will pay southwark a fine then make the rest of it student housing too
    • For some strange reason, hubby likes to spend 'big' on family cards birthday and Christmas. I think it may have stemmed from his mother- she equated money with status and was a bit of a snob!  She was also quite eccentric - we asked for a suitcase one year and got a set of 4. One year she gave hubby the equivalent of a hearing aid - it was a device to hear bird song. Nobody we know send expensive cards. We have a twice yearly set of cards from the Foot and Mouth Painting Artists and have done for the last 30 plus years. I think they are around £12 for set of 10  - cannot remember what we paid this winter but they are fantastic value and beautiful paintings.  One of the best places around to buy cards is the Fair Trade Centre at Christ Church Barry Road. Fantastic selection with a starting price of £1.30.
    • I had to renew my licence - took photocopy of my current licence and also my renewal application and posted everything off. Within 10 days received my new licence. My old licence was due to run out in January so I submitted the renewal early December.
    • I cannot remember who ran/organised the original ED LETS. They had meetings at the ED Community Centre every so often. I think there were about 20 - 25 people involved.
