He's come along way from being a Marxist to being the celebrity face of an ad for the $4.5 billion dollar wall street listed capitalist enterprise running lime bikes!

Did anyone else notice how he is very careful not to mention them by name!?

Yes, but he knows the visual association more than makes up for that, yes, it might as well say 'Southwark safer streets, sponsored by Lime'.

I tried a Lime bike once, too heavy and bulky for me but I understand that many really like them.  And very much support the concept.

Which part of the concept appeals the most? Paraphrasing Private Eye … Is it the weight and  the dangerous way people ride them, the way they get left fallen over in the middle of the street, or thrown in the Thames as I saw today, or is it that they have giant batteries and rely on electricity?

Less cars on the street

Mass mobility

Many like them otherwise they wouldn't be used.

But then again I am not a cynic.

Many people like letting their dogs take a crap in the street as well...

It's not mass transport. It's transport for those too lazy to actually cycle rather than sitting on a powered vehicle. Oh and those green credentials? Discuss those with the kids digging up the critical minerals powering the bikes.

These vehicles should be docked as they are in other cities. That way twats wouldn't be able to leave them in the way of those who can't see well or get around easily. They like their mobility too.

I have used them to get to places around Dulwich where there are no buses and you are no longer allowed to drive your own car.

Where are the places you need to get to where you are ‘no longer allowed to drive your car’?

Are you’re talking about the handful of roads that have traffic filters? If so, those streets haven't banned cars - you are allowed to drive a car on them and to them, they just restrict some through traffic. That’s not quite the same.

Interesting that the filters have encouraged you to switch to a bicycle for some journeys. Think that’s the effect you’ve previously insisted they don’t have.

    • Michael Crick, the author who first uncovered this story in his recently published book on Farage was interviewed on the Today programme this morning and was clear that he could only get one person he interviewed, and that was unsubstantiated, to argue that the adult Farage was in any way currently racist, and he admitted he tried to get this ascertation from interviewees who otherwise couldn't stand Farage. Farage was clearly a contrarian as a school boy, and very possibly not very nice, but it is the man now, not the boy then, that should concern us. It is his current  policies, his competences and the key people in his party we should be focusing on, not 40 year old scuttlebut. That's just lazy.
    • Can't drive through them, can't park on them etc.
    • Are Muffins toast , or something else?
    • Don't worry, he's only ever indirectly racially abused people and he's never done it in a hurtful or insulting way. It's very difficult to know isn't it? I mean, is the racist man known primarily for being a racist actually a racist if he says racism is funny? Gosh, tricky one...   Bit like that joke where the footballer calls the ref a **** and gets booked for it. Footballer is annoyed at this and says "well, what if I think it?" Ref says "well I can't stop you thinking can I?" Footballer says "cool, in that case, I think you're a ****" 😉
